FTL
He built it for the stars. It sent him home.
Engineer Tom Valente has built a ship that can outrun light and named it for the son he lost. He is one flight away from history when a rescue call pulls him off course.
The Premise
He named the fastest ship ever built after the son he lost.
Tom Valente is an engineer with an idea most people would call impossible: travel faster than light. Now he has a working prototype. He calls it Jericho, after his son.
The anniversary of his son’s death is close. Tom is divorced, and his best friend Philip and Philip’s wife, Ingrid, have set him up on a blind date.
Then the demonstration works. Jericho does everything Tom said it would, and the first human test flight is next.
A news alert changes the plan. Instead of a test flight, Tom is on his way to a rescue.
Getting home is another matter.
